Hi! I'm Gus.

I am a PhD student in the Technology and Social Behavior program advised by Liz Gerber and Matt Easterday at the Delta Lab.

To meet the sustainable development goals, like ending poverty and hunger by 2030, and reaching carbon neutrality by 2050, we need active and engaged citizens. Some of these citizens, like social entrepreneurs, will dedicate their entire careers to advancing these goals. I study and design technologies to increase civic participation through activism and deliberation and to help social entrepreneurs navigate their careers through mentorship.

I draw on my personal experience as a political activist and academic training in computer science, social psychology, and design. I received my BS in Computer Science and BA in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego in 2018.

I like music. Check out my playlist:
